  3. can bind a person to his power. The high 
  4. point of Satanism is believed to be the Black 
  5. Mass, a parody of the Christian Mass or 
  6. Eucharist. Accusations of Satanism are common 
  7. in times of social and religious 
  8. upheaval-such as the late 15th to late 17th 
  9. centuries in Europe when the authority of 
  10. first the Roman Catholic Church and then of 
  11. the various major Protestant churches was 
  12. questioned.
